HEALTH ISSUES

• PRA(Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
  Dr. Gregory Acland’s site. Dr. Acland is currently conducting research to find the genetic marker to identify PRA carriers in the Glen.
• OFA(Orthopedic Foundation for Animals)
  OFA is a registry and diagnostic service for several orthapedic and genetic diseases of dogs and cats including hip dysplasia.
• PennHIP
  PennHIP stands for The University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program and is another method of diagnosing hip dysplasia.

THE WORKING TERRIER

The following two sites are good resource and informational sites for those interested in participating in events that encourage the working aspect of their Glen.

• Earth Dog
  History and description of terriers "going to ground" and "earthdog" trials, information on the American Working Terrier Association and AKC Earthdog Trials, clubs that sponsor earthdog events and their schedule of events.
• Agility
  Comprehensive resource site with information on numerous aspects of agility including description of the sport, training, organizations and clubs, events calendars, links to other  related sites.

IRELAND

• Hill Walk Ireland
  Great site detailing a variety of walking routes throughout Ireland and includes maps and pictures. At present it concentrates on the Dublin and Wicklow mountains. The latter of interest as this is where the Glen of Imaal is located.
• The Irish Breeds Society
  An affiliated club of the Irish Kennel Club for the promotion and protection of Breeds of Irish Origin. The site lists show schedules, clubs and has features on Irish Breeds.
